I'll give it a try sometime, but I don't like MM1 nearly as much as MM2, so I wouldn't have the patience for a hack that wasn't top notch for that game.

Have you tried No Constancy (hard difficulty)? It is damn near impossible.

By the way...I've tried out Challenging Lolo, and you don't pull any punches.

Mega Man is the reason I started collecting, I'm definitely going to give these 2 a try. It will be fun to see what Sivak was doing years before he was one of the big guns on the NES homebrew scene too. Great article!

I've done 3 complete hacks: Bass 2, and Challenging Lolo 1 & 2.

I guess before all this, I had Bass 1 which was only a sprite hack of MM1. I think that file is long gone though. It was just MM as Bass. No other changes, so nothing fancy.
I had another one called "Bomb Man". Again, a sprite hack of MM1 with Bomb Man as your guy. You could fight the actual Bomb Man whose name changed to "Clone".

Oh yeah, I have an actual cart of Constancy (normal difficulty). Bunny made me a special order. I don't have Bass 2 on cart though.

Yeah, I got to skim the article a bit. I'll look more at it later when I have time. Working day yet again.

Oh...and QuickMan stage in No Constancy...I should have said something about it in the article...but you'll be (unpleasantly) surprised by not 2, but THREE quick beam sections! YAY! ]]>

By all means, I think SERIOUS NES gamers should all get a PowerPak for things like this, but No Constancy is good enough that I would even suggest paying to have it repro'd if that's the only chance you'll get to enjoy the game. ]]>

I watched the YouTube videos for all of the robot levels of No Constancy, it was a great watch. Really, I just wanted to hear the music But some of the levels are just sadistic. Mega Man 9, eat your heart out.
