Now if you wanted someone to teach you how to code, then yeah money would be a good incentive. But for repros, which is basically what you're asking? Nah, the info is commonly available and enough people do it that free help is definitely available. ]]>

Check past eZines, a few have detailed instructions on repro making. Then send that $30-50 to Dain as a site donation

awesome, thanks for pointing me in their direction. that looks like a great tutorial.

i've read a lot of other tutorials and i do a lot of various electronics projects too, so i'm confident i could figure this all out based on these resources. but i'd still really like to have a person i could ask my beginner questions to.

I am sure lots of people would be willing to help you out (free of charge).

Just ask your questions here.

You could save yourself the time and effort and get a powerpak from retrousb.com. Also, if you want to avoid rewiring a dev cart you can buy one of their retropaks and solder sockets onto the board.

You can use a donor if you'd like, nrom dev carts don't require rewiring iirc.

i already own 2 powerpaks actually. they're amazing.

basically, i want to learn to make my own cartridges for the following reasons -

1. i'm nervous about taking expensive powerpaks to sketchy venues when i play shows.
2. i'd like to be able to give my programs to friends who don't own powerpaks, as gifts.
3. i'd like to be able to sell my programs.

I want to make my own Nintendo cartridges for the songs and simple programs I write. I've got a programmer and a UV eraser. I'm not sure what chips I need to buy. I just need the help of someone who's done this a few times to correspond with via email a few times and answer some beginner questions.

Depending on how much help I actually end up needing, I would pay between $30 and $50.
