I've heard that there are 679 licensed North American NES games, yet this thread list 677. Is it not actually 679?

There's a few repeats, notably the combo carts and such.

EDIT: And some people count the two NWC carts as licensed games, but they're not included in the list in this thread.

Yeah, I looked it up and it appears Nintendoage's list doesn't count Nintendo World Championships and Nintendo Campus Challenge.  ]]>

Just so you all know, I plan on competing again next year. I will quit my job if I have to in order to win

I may be back in force next year as well.   ]]>

Anyway, I'd say go big or go home with Famicom. Put them all there, but don't expect them all to get beat due to language issues and whatnot. Just allow the option to do them...kind of like bonus points. That's my take on it anyway.

I don't think it's fun to make a goal that has no chance of being met. Not to mention that I have no clue what constitutes beating Shougi Meikan '93 and a ton of other crap. As for Wizardry, there were a lot of other rpgs I would've considered adding before that, like Famicom Wars or Last Armageddon for starters. 3 isn't much different from the first two, right? I'm still planning on beating a Wizardry game someday. I have the PS2 game but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Anyway, the new thread is up. Time to get hyped:

Actually, it's a lot more of a challenge than the first two.  Alignment plays a major role for the first time in the series, locking out entire floors if you have anyone the wrong alignment in your party...and you have to go to every floor to get the items you need to win the game.  Gameplay-wise it's similar to the other two, but to say it's like playing the first two games again, well that's about as fair as saying "I don't need to beat Lolo 3 because it's basically the same as Lolo 1 and 2."  The core gameplay is the same, but the games themselves are vastly different. ]]>
