Oasis

Blur

That's funny to think about that Brit Pop competition between those bands back in the day, and that Oasis was apparently the winner. Listening to both bands today, that's so obvious that Blur is the better band, not that the best of Oasis sucks or anything, but Blur was just way more sophisticated. Add Gorillaz to the equation and Damon Albarn is definitely one of the best British Pop composer of the last 3 decades.
This is just straight up blasphemy. Oasis won big in GB with good reason. The US just didn't have much appreciation for rock n roll at that time. Noel Gallagher is the Niel Young of our time, it was just a time that someone like that was bound to not get their proper due. Oasis and Blur are not even in the same conversation. Song 2 is cool and that album was ok overall, but Oasis has several timeless albums and classic songs.

Blur and their side projects are light years ahead of anything Oasis ever put out. Even the later albums by Blur that weren't as well crafted as the Parklife and MLiR are much better and intersting than Oasis' "best" stuff ]]>

Noel Gallagher is nowhere near Neil Young. He's more like Aaron Lewis.

With a shittier attitude and much less relevance to music today ]]>

100% happy someone picked up on this! Both bands were great, and I totally agree with what you're saying.

This is all complete blasphemy to put it in it's best light. Song 2 was tremendous. The rest of the album was ok. Noel Gallagher, on the other hand, is the greatest song writer of our time. He is as close as we could get to a 90s niel young, but as is the nature of the 90s, he wasn't appropriately appreciated ]]>
