I don't plan on emulating any of the games, as I don't like using emulators, so playing nothing but US games wouldn't be much of a problem for me since I only need 10 more to have a complete set. Playing the European games would be tougher for me because I don't have too many of them. If we play any European games, I would suggest they be near the end of the schedule because I would try to obtain a copy of the game if I don't already own it. Although, I'm probably going to be in the minority here since it looks like everyone else emulated Wonder Boy this week and may continue to emulate the other games. Did anyone else other than me play on the actual game cartridge this week? I did play it with the cartrige on my Tectoy Master System 3.
But I used the localized Tectoy release instead.

I don't have the other games so I am not sure I will participate in the following weeks.

I also added 3 more games to the schedule.  While I have US released games in mind for the rest of the schedule, I was thinking of adding in a few European games instead.  Since I was originally going to include only US released games, I thought I'd see what everyone else thought about including European games as well.  Would anyone prefer that the contest stay US only?

Edit: I'm going to keep the contest US released games only. ]]>

Nice scores everyone! This game is a bit more difficult than I thought, but from the short bursts I've played of it, it's pretty fun. I'd like to revisit it again once I get actual hardware to play it on. I think this is the first time I've used emulation for a weekly contest (on my phone of all things, ha).  ]]>

This is definitely a fun game. I like how it mixes platforming with RPG-type elements. This is my fourth time playing the game and I continue to improve my score.

Here's a question: Within the contest rules, what is the legality of Googling answers to the Sphinx's questions in the tomb? It sure is nice not having to do that battle

I think that would be okay.  Since I didn't put a restriction on checking FAQs or watching longplays in the rules at the beginning, I'd rather not add a new rule like that now.

Thanks for the quick reply, I just paused it at the Sphinx battle again with a better score. Last run I tried to fight him and he took out both my lives. His questions are borderline nonsensical anyways.

If I'm not mistaken, when you buy drinks at the bar in the pyramid, you're given a clue to the correct answer, so there is a way to know the right answer without looking it up.

Edit: Looking it up now, it seems that the correct answer won't be the same every playthrough.  You'll still only have a 50/50 shot if you look it up online.  The only way to know the correct answer for sure is to buy drinks at the bar.
Oh interesting to know, I made it thru the sphinx with what I looked up. I assume it's the more expensive drink if it's such crucial information. I often buy drinks at the bar anyways for health.

At any rate, I think I'm done with this game but had a really fun time learning its intricacies.

That stage 12 maze gave me lots of headache this time around. I couldn't remember what was the order I had to follow to beat it at first, but after wandering about, it came back to me.
But alas, Capitão Feio was defeated and peace reigns again at Bairro do Limoeiro!
Nice score, Bea. Yours is the shortest retirement ever

Well, this isn't the NES contest and I HAD to play this one!
I love the TecToy localization ports of the Wonderboy series.   ]]>
